located in tampa’s charming palma ceia neighborhood, it’s difficult to tell if this custom new build is in fact new or if it’s been there 100 years like some of the neighbors. On our initial call the clients indicated that they wanted the exterior modeled after a “seattle bungalow” and while i’m super familiar with tampa’s historic bungalows I had to jump on google as soon as our call ended to see what they were talking about…and i knew this was going to be a fun project!

The Exterior

the Crisp white trim and red brick accents pop against the subtle gray body color that gives the illusion of being understated while screaming “look at how cool I am!”

A number of details came together to add tons of character to the exterior, including the large dormer, prominent corbels, and use of birck. red brick was used to line the driveway and for the intricate columns with an arched cutout detail on all four sides. the builder used stamped stucco on the stem wall to carry the brick texture around the base of the house but save the clients a few bucks since it was being painted.

The Interior

these clients fully embraced designing a home that spoke to their personal style! this will be their forever home so they weren’t concerned about what a potential future home onwer would think….and that freedom in their decision making was magical!

I’m talking built-ins designed exclusively for making their lives more efficient, dog-friendly features for their fur babies, hardwood floors, bold colors, stunning tile selections, trendy lighting, stained glass windows…and a moody fully custom kitchen with walnut details that’s just stunning. this house is literally the coolest!
